Winter Lighting
To bring additional light during the dark months, PTMS installs and maintains the beautiful lighting on the trees in Downtown from October until March. In addition, add seasonal lighting to Uptown. In 2026, PTMS added a lighting enhancement feature in Adams Street Park. The whale is the first of what we hope will be many more place based lighting features in the districts.
Tyler Plaza Lighting Enhancement Project
In 2022 the Port Townsend Creative District was awarded a $14,000 matching infrastructure grant from ArtsWa. The Port Townsend Main Street Program matched the additional funding and the City of Port Townsend came in with in-kind support by doing the ground work, installing the light poles and stringing the lights overhead. The lighting enhancement to Tyler Plaza has made it possible for visitors and locals alike to enjoy this already beautiful space all year round and into the night. With the additional lighting at Tyler Plaza the Port Townsend Main Street Program and the Creative District hope to have more arts related events and gatherings at the plaza for all to enjoy.
