Raingardens & Green Spaces

Raingardens
To ensure the historic business districts are welcoming for residents and visitors, PTMS maintains the majority of the rain gardens and planting beds in Uptown and Downtown working with the Parks and Recreation department on beautification of these green spaces.

Adams Street Parklet
The Port Townsend Main Street Program worked with the City of Port Townsend to enhance the street end of Adams Street, next to Adams Street Park. We made the space an inviting place for locals and visitors to sit, relax and enjoy the beautiful water views by adding benches, tables and chairs and greenery. The design of this beautiful parklet and benches was done by Studio STL. Thanks to the City of Port Townsend for doing the ground work, shoreline improvements and installation of the planter pots.

"Main Street Chairs/Tables"
A colorful new pedestrian amenity which create community and conversation with movable chairs. Funded in part by the Port Townsend Main Street Program, Beverly Malagon, downtown property owner and member of the Port Townsend Main Street Program, and Harry Doyle, owner of The Tin Brick. The Port Townsend Main Street Design Committee is hopeful that more property/business owners will partner with Main Street to add more street furniture in the historic districts, to increase the pedestrian-friendliness of Port Townsend.
