Take the Belonging Barometer Survey

PTMS wants to hear from you on community belonging

Your voice is important! Port Townsend Main Street (PTMS) is looking for 5-10 minutes of your time to take part in a survey on your sense of belonging in Downtown Port Townsend. The Belonging Barometer survey assesses how people experience connection, safety, and inclusion. PTMS is conducting the survey to provide insight to shape future programming and pathways for community connection with our work. The survey is open to anyone who wants to participate.

Part of PTMS’ mission is stewarding a place where the community can feel connected, to promote togetherness, and to improve wellbeing. While the work of PTMS extends from Uptown to Downtown, the survey is just focusing on belonging in relation to Downtown. Through work in business promotion, community events, marketing opportunities, placemaking projects, historic preservation, and economic vitality initiatives, PTMS works to strengthen our local business community, steward the historic business district, and encourage residents and visitors to shop, dine, explore, and support local vibrancy - to feel a connection to Port Townsend.

The survey will be open until November 17th. Upon completion, the results will be analyzed in consultation with Main Street America and PTMS will release a summary of results in early 2027. PTMS will keep you updated through our various communication channels on how the results shape our work planning, programming, and current strategic planning. PTMS also hopes to open pathways for continued community conversations with residents and partners. Please share with your neighbors. Thanks for your time in taking the survey.
