Sweet Sounds of Summer

School is out, vacations have started, and July 4th generally marks the start of sunny summer weather and an uptick in visitors. The Main Street team has been busy working on a variety of activities to help highlight all there is to do in Port Townsend, plan key promotions to draw people to spend time in our historic districts, keep the flower baskets watered, keep the weeds out of our rain gardens, and support the overall vitality of our business community.

Being a welcoming community is an important part of sustainable tourism and that starts with the visitor services team at the Northwest Maritime Welcome Center, the City of Port Townsend, and the Mobile Greeters of Main Street. Connecting visitors and residents with information, experiences, activities, dining, and more. If you have information to share with us regarding your business or event, please reach out at promote@ptmainstreet.org.

Main Street is working to meet requests from a variety of tours coming to town this July, from The World - Residences at Sea coming to town on July 3 to a few tour groups coming for day stops this month.

The World is a large cruise ship where around 200 residents live and travel around the world. They will be here on July 3 and Main Street is providing business directory information to them along with concierge service to connect visitors with attractions and restaurants too. Our goal is to direct their experiences to your stores, restaurants, and activities. If you haven't submitted your update business information to our free business directory do so at this link.

Main Street is also providing directory information to a tour coming on July 16 and on going through the American Cruise Line visits each week. Our goal is to connect visitors on these tours along with day to day visitors to the variety of business in our community with the goal of shopping local. We hope that businesses owners are ready to meet these people with a welcoming greeting and an in store experience that translates into sales.
