Jefferson Transit is giving us more reasons to ride the bus! Beginning Sunday, May 3, 2026 you can now ride on a Jefferson Transit route seven days a week. For those going to work downtown or those coming to shop and eat, you can catch Route 11 at the Haines Place Park and Ride and be downtown in under 20 minutes.
“Sunday service will mirror current Saturday service levels, providing consistent and reliable transportation options for both residents and visitors,” said Nicole Gauthier, JTA General Manager. “With this addition, riders will be able to travel within the community and connect to destinations beyond the county seven days a week.”
Gautheir said the addition of county wide Sunday service responds to interest from the community and will operate as a pilot program this year. The Jefferson Transit Authority Board will then evaluate the service day based on performance and ridership in December.
“Community participation will play a critical role in determining the program’s future, and riders are encouraged to take advantage of this new service to help ensure its continuation,” said Gauthier. “Jefferson Transit will continue to offer 20-minute service along the uptown/downtown corridor, making it easy for riders to park at Haines Place and enjoy local shops, dining, and attractions. This approach also supports reduced traffic congestion in the downtown core.”
The bus is far free for all passengers. The addition of Sunday service is countywide. Find the schedule online here, .
