Earth Day Spring Clean Up 

April 19th, 2025 9-12 Noon. We coordinate volunteers and encourage business owners to help clean up and beautify downtown and uptown Port Townsend.

May is Art Wave!

Showcasing K-12th grade student artwork for the month of May in businesses uptown and downtown. This promotion helps create awareness of arts education programs in the public schools. Cost: Free for members; $15 nonmembers. “Art Affair” fundraisers for the Arts in Education Program in the Port Townsend School District occur throughout the year.

Hanging Flower Basket Program

Flower baskets are ordered directly through Port Townsend Garden Center. Main Street offers an optional watering and maintenance program, cost varies according to # of baskets. May through September 30th. Stay tuned for more info for 2025.

Concerts on the Dock

A free 8-week outdoor concert series featuring primarily local bands on Thursdays starting  July 10th and running through August 2025. The concerts take place at the Pope Marine Plaza from 5:00-7:30 pm and include a beer/wine/cider garden and local vendors. Attendance ranges from 500 – 800 each week. Goal: To create a connection with downtown, showcase great regional music and local businesses. Local businesses help sponsor these shows through venue sponsorships, beer/wine garden sponsorships, and stage sponsorships.

Uptown Street Fair

August 16th, 2025 – Over 2000 attend the event on Lawrence Street from 9 am to 5 pm. Local businesses help sponsor the event. Attendance is estimated at over 3,500. The goal of the event is to celebrate the Uptown Historic Business District and neighborhood, offer family fun, showcase great local art with the PT Arts Guild Arts & Crafts Fair as well as music, local food, and The Farmers’ Market. The Port Townsend Main Street Program helps coordinate the event, provides event insurance and marketing assistance.

Port Townsend Sip N’ Shop

October 2nd, 2025 -Port Townsend Sip N’ Shop (formerly Girls’ Night Out) to raise funds for Jefferson Healthcare Community Foundation to help provide free Breast/Cervical Cancer screenings for local women in need and the Port Townsend Main Street Program through the sale of 600 goodie bags. Stay tuned for exciting updates for 2025!

Haunted Histories & Mysteries of Port Townsend

Saturdays in October, hear true stories from Port Townsend’s haunted past and present. This experience is outdoors so please dress for the weather.

 

Hastings Building Tour – date TBD – Take a tour of the1889 Hastings Building on Water Street in Downtown Port Townsend. Meet the descendants of Lucinda Hastings and have rare access to this iconic landmark building. The Hastings Estate Company, descendants of the original family, maintain ownership of the building and will be providing the tour, discussing their project for restoration. This building has steep stairs, is not renovated and has been vacant since the 1950s. Enter at your own risk.

Downtown Trick or Treat & Parade

October 31st, 2025 At 4 pm; The Port Townsend Main Street Program has coordinated this event since 1994. We work with the Port Townsend Police to close the streets from 3:45 to 5:30 pm. Attendance estimate: 2,000 Goal: a family-friendly event in the safe atmosphere of downtown and cultivate a community connection with downtown merchants. Merchants purchase candy for the children. Thanks to our generous merchants!

Ring in the Holidays in Port Townsend

November and December – The goal is to promote local shopping/dining/lodging, assist with holiday lighting/decorations and create festive events and retail promotions to spark community connection. Small Business Saturday: November 29th, 2025. Community Treelighting and Santa visit: December 6th, 2025. Campaign includes postcards, print ads, signage, website, press releases, and social media promotion. Special events and holiday lighting add to the festive atmosphere uptown and downtown.
