2024 Main Street Tax Incentive Program
The Port Townsend Main Street Program is pleased to offer the opportunity to put your state B&O tax dollars to work here in Port Townsend through the work of our 501c3 nonprofit program. 75% of your donation is returned to you via B&O tax credits in 2025. Because the Port Townsend Main Street Program is a 501c3 nonprofit, business contributions may be eligible for a federal income tax deduction, please check with your accountant. We hope you will consider this unique opportunity.
These funds help us fulfill our program mission: To preserve, promote and enhance the historic business districts.
We provide resources for the historic districts, and implement grants which benefit the districts. Our nonprofit coordinates design projects such as Adams Street Park, the hanging flower basket program, and winter lighting as well as downtown landscaping and maintenance. We promote the historic districts through social media awareness, offer retail promotions and community events and coordinate the Creative District activities to support our local economy.

A business that successfully requests credit through the DOR website must make their contribution to the designated community by November 8th of that same year.
This is a way to direct your state tax dollars right back into your community. This program is unique to Washington and has proven to be a catalyst for Main Street communities since 2006.
