If you are a “people person” who loves special events, we’ve got a volunteer gig for you at the Main Street office ! Volunteers are needed for upcoming special events, as well as in the Main Street Program Office in the Mount Baker Block. Main Street also seeks helpers to help distribute information for events and retail promotions.

The Port Townsend Main Street Program hosts 20+ events and programs each year and we couldn’t do it without the help of our amazing volunteers!

Earth Day Spring Clean up - April 19th
Earth Day is celebrated around the world on April 22nd each year. Locally, the Port Townsend Main Street Program staff and dedicated volunteers go out and spruce up downtown in preparation for Spring. Projects can included extensive weeding at Adams Street Park, planting new shrubs, adding to the planters at Tyler Street Plaza and cleaning street furniture.

Concerts on the Dock - Thursdays, July & August
- Set up help from 2 – 4:30 pm
- Security help keeping an eye on the scene from 5 – 7:30 pm
- Tear down help 7:30 – 8:30 pm (someone with a truck would be super helpful)

Uptown Street Fair - August 16th
Looking for:
- Set up help from 7:00am – 9:00am
- Main Street info booth – 2 hour shifts starting from 9am – 5pm
- Parade – help with organization and participation
- Tear down help – 5:30-6:30pm

Port Townsend Shop & Sip (formerly Girls' Night Out) - October 2nd
Looking for:
- Business Sign Up follow up – over the summer
- Goodie Bag stuffing – date tbd
- Event set up -decorate event space
- Goodie Bag sales during the event – 2 hour shifts – 11am -8pm
- Event tear down
- Wine Stop assistance during event

Haunted Histories & Mysteries Walking Tours - Saturdays in October

- Volunteers at History Tours
- Volunteers at Haunted Walks

Downtown Trick or Treat & Parade - October 31st
Crowd control assistance needed at the event. Dressing up strongly encouraged 😉

Ring in the Holidays in PT - Nov./Dec
More details coming soon. Volunteer assistance includes:
- Decorating the Community Tree before the treelighting
- Assisting with children’s activities under the heated tent – a few weekends in Nov./Dec.
- Elves on tree lighting day – elves assist with the Santa visit and help with crowd control guiding the Kiwanis Choo Choo to the Haller Fountain
