Part Time Contract Worker Job Description: Hourly Wage: $12.50

Position Summary: The contract worker is responsible for the daily cleaning of the Cotton Building restrooms, downtown raingarden maintenance and upkeep, seasonal hanging flower basket watering and seasonal downtown pressure washing.

Responsibilities:

Daily cleaning and restocking of the Cotton Building restrooms
– 1 hour per day preferably prior to 8 am
– 2 times per day on Sat./Sun. during peak seasons (June – Sept.)
-Follow check list of cleaning and restocking
– Pressure washing floors as needed
Downtown Raingarden & Bulb Out Maintenance
– 425 hours/year
– Weeding and maintaining downtown raingardens and bulb outs
– Assisting with Adams St. Park when needed
– Assisting with general upkeep of the downtown area
Seasonal Hanging Flower Basket Watering & Maintenance
– 450 hours from mid-May to early October
– Watering and fertilizing of 120+ baskets downtown, uptown and along Sims Way, preferably early when town is quiet and parking is empty
– Deadheading flowers in hanging baskets
Seasonal Pressure Washing
– As needed downtown
– Pope Marine Plaza on Thursdays prior to Concerts on the Dock (July/August)

Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED
• WA Driver License with a clean driving record
• Knowledge of gardening
• Must have own truck and insurance
• Current City of PT business license

• General Knowledge of Gardening
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Attention to detail
• Requires bending, stooping, reaching up and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Available for flexible scheduling
• Ability to follow directions thoroughly
• Ability to work in outdoor areas
• Sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to prioritize and organize
